Flash Mob!

Hey guys, this is our final entry. We’ve had an amazing time in challenge week. Getting to know the newbs, playing around with fun challenges and trying things we’ve never done, Awesome.

Our team was fully involved in the flash mob, definitely the most nerve wracking part of the entire week! Pip did the filming and Yulelani, Alex, Andrew, Matt and Tony all participated in the big freeze!

Last week I mentioned to a friend I’d love to take part in a flash mob, and the next week it’s happening. Crazy.

A big thanks to everyone who joined in the madness and helped get it off the ground! and an extra special thanks to Tim, Tony, James and Caroline!

The film below is a quick unedited version of the flash mob. We had three people filming from different angles, so over the next couple of days, we will edit it all together and show off just how awesome it was! Maybe we could put it on the NMIT IT blog or FB page?…

Anyway, here goes:

Also, special mention to our awesome tutors for putting this week together ^_^

Signing out of ITCW 2012….

A-Team

Mystery Challenge – 1 Hour Website!

This is the website we produced in the 1 hour website challenge: http://lolzatnmit.weebly.com/

Ok, we screwed up a little…. We were supposed to make our website about the three tutors, but ended up dedicating it to Ryan! It was worth it, we had fun playing around with the photo-shopping and we all got to pitch our ideas in and help! Plus we got to try our hand at LOLCODE, awesome!

Here screenshots of our 2 fave pages:

Half way there?

I would like to think that at the end of day three we had finished a major chunk of the challenges and we would be on the downhill straight – I could say it but may not be completely true! I think the two hardest challenges will be completed tomorrow; the video and flash mob and fingers crossed they both go smoothly.

I had a enjoyable but yet very challenging day with the treasure hunt and then the web site task. Neither task was really my forte but it was great to see the different team members gel and utilizing their own strengths to complete the requirements. I did have a duh moment when I realized Irene was the Sprig and Fern – it was a brilliant riddle which really got us thinking.

Kudos to all the teams today with the web sites that they produced – my hat (if I had one!) goes off to anyone that can create a site that quickly and looking that good. It was one of the seldom moments where I actually wanted to be able to code, don’t worry though as the moment passed quickly.

No doubt tomorrow will be full of surprises and hopefully a little less stressful.

Treasure Hunt Results!

The last clue left at fresh choice, asked us to solve a question. Our answer is Alan Turing.

We are missing two photos. We had a problem initially where our photos were not saved. We didn’t realise until we had left those locations, we had hoped to go back and retake them but by the time we got back, the mystery challenge had begun and before we knew it, it was 3 and some of us had to leave. We are hoping that we can make up for this by either submitting the QR codes that we took pics of or by going back to those places tomorrow and getting fresh pics.

Here are our photos at all the locations:

Saniti

(We had an issue with unsaved pics – hoping we can retrieve it!)

We would like to say a big thanks to all the businesses we visited! The staff were excellent and the treasure hunt was a success!
